Hotels

1: Jaiminis Landmark

Address: Jaiminis Landmark, Pkt-10 , Plot -86, Block - B, Sector 13, New Delhi, Delhi 110078
https://www.jaiminislandmark.com/

This is a small boutique hotel and event space. Renata’s family will be staying here and we have blocked a few more rooms for the wedding. If you’d like to stay here please contact Saksham to block the room for you instead of booking on the website as we can get the block rate that we have negotiated with the hotel. The availability is limited and would run out fast.

The hotel is in a residential part of the city, so if you go around for sightseeing, you will have to commute a little bit. But it is close to the Dwarka Sector 13 Metro Station, which is on the Blue Line that takes you directly to the heart of the city. The area has a few good malls, shopping centers & salons nearby so it is convenient for your basic needs.

2: Radisson Blu Hotel, New Delhi, Dwarka

https://www.radissonhotels.com/en-us/booking/room-display?hotelCode=INDLDELDWA

This is right across the street from Jaiminis Landmark hotel. It is a bigger hotel with more amenities and you’ll still be close to where other guests are staying.

3: A couple, other smaller, more affordable hotels in the area. Availability is limited at these places and might run out fast.

  1. Hotel Green Lotus Residency: Plot no 91, near Radisson Blu, Sector 13, Dwarka, New Delhi, Delhi, 110078, India

  2. Hotel Apple Tree Residency: Plot No: 88, Sector 13, Dwarka, New Delhi, Delhi, 110078, India

4: Airbnb

You can also book an Airbnb if you are traveling with a group. We’d recommend staying around Dwarka Sector 13 (Sector 12, 13, 14, 4, 3) so that you are closer to everyone else and it is generally a safer area. Feel free to find accommodation in another location if you’d prefer to be close to popular parts of the city, but if you do, try to find a place close to a metro station.

Transportion

Subway Train

Taxis

Use Uber & Ola Cabs. There is good availability of cabs on the ride-share apps all around the clock and they are a safer choice. Sometimes drivers don’t follow the rules - go off of the GPS path for shortcuts, or don’t show up etc.; so look out for that. But we’d still recommend using the ride-sharing apps instead of hailing a cab or Auto-rickshaw’s (Tuc-Tuc) on the street.

Public Transportation

The Delhi Metro is very safe, efficient and clean. The popular parts of the city are generally very well connected by the metro. The only downside is that it doesn’t run late at night (generally 11:30/midnight). But other than that, it is a great option for getting around the city. Obviously, when walking around or taking public transport, take care of your belongings and beware of pick-pocketers.

Things To Do

Short Trips from Delhi

  • Taj Mahal, Agra - only a couple of hours from Delhi, a great destination for a day trip to visit one of the Wonders of the World. You can take a train early in the morning and come back in the evening. We’d really recommend hiring a tour guide for this. Look for tour packages on Viator.com for planning a day trip. (Many of our guests are interested in this during their stay so let us know if you are interested and we can facilitate planning this as a big group)

  • Jaipur, Rajasthan - Also a great destination to visit for a couple of days with a lot of historic forts and palaces. A few hours by car or train from Delhi.

  • Rishikesh - Overnight train or bus ride. Beautiful town in the Himalayan foothills. Known for natural beauty around it and Hindu temples. It is also the place where The Beatles stayed in India and in fact, you can visit the Ashram (Monastery) where they studied meditation. Not surprisingly, it is now known as the Beatles Ashram (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatles_Ashram)

Longer Trips around India

  • Goa - A really fun beach destination. It is known for tropical weather, great food, and all night raves (for our techno heads).

  • Kerala - Close to the southern most part of mainland India. Beautiful beaches and nature. (3 Hr flight from Delhi)

  • Shimla - Fly from Delhi to Chandigarh, then hire a taxi from there to Shimla (3.5-4 Hrs)

  • Sikkim - Fly to Gangtok (2 hr)

Wedding Attire

Outdoor Wedding Mandap

Summary

  • Mehendi and Sangeet - Cocktail attire

  • Haldi - Casual

  • Wedding - Formal / Wedding attire

  • Since this is a common question we get - it is completely acceptable for you to wear western wedding and cocktail attire i.e. suits, dresses, gowns etc. for both the Wedding and the Mehendi/Sangeet.

  • But if you are interested in wearing Indian formal attire, we’d recommend planning to buy it in India itself since it will be much better quality and better value for price. You can check out the brands Manyavar, Mohanlal Sons and FabIndia. There are plenty of stores of these brands around the city.
